TRAMTARIA - Seven Summits

The Icy One
Mount McKinley (Denali), 6194 m

The Native Americans gave it the name "Denali" (high) which is not by far the only superlative belonging to this coldest mountain of the world. It is situated 3.500 km to the north of Mount Everest and mere 250 km from the Arctic Circle. Temperatures as low as - 50°C, extremely strong snowstorms and even though when there is no wind your skin feels like burning. These are some of extreme conditions to be encountered by all who aspire to conquer this mountain. Withstanding countless kilometer crusade with no one to carry the heavy load through Alaska's cold uninhabited country and self-reliance are the most important factors for successful return.
