TRAMTARIA - Seven Summits

The Extreme One
Mount Vinson, 5140 m

Roughly 98% of the total area of Antarctica is covered with approximately 3-km thick layer of ice. It is a place where temperatures hardly rises above -20°C and severe winds blow at speed of 300 km/h. Antarctica minimizes its environment to blinding light, deafening silence and chilling cold, in other words to absolute isolation.
Ellsworth's massive with its highest peak was not discovered until 1935. In 1966, US Navy brought 10 American mountaineers who were the first to conquer Mount Vinson. Logistics and transportation have remained to be the main problem, which complicate the expeditions and thus make it very expensive. The transport from Chile is planned to the minutest detail, the airflights are precisely scheduled so as the weight of the cargo, then for every gram overweight you have to pay high surcharges. All the arrangements are carried out by Adventure Network company. The expeditions to Mount Vinson and Mount Everest belong to the most difficult of the whole project.
